Justicia Poética

At La Esperanza, the women start by expressing themselves through art—a fun and approachable way to dive into self-expression, especially for those who haven’t had much formal schooling. The volunteers focus on visual arts first, helping participants build confidence and find their voices.

Once they’re comfortable, we gently introduce poetry, guiding them to connect images and emotions with words. Using the Poetic Justice curriculum, they explore personal stories, reflect on their lives, and start discovering new paths to healing through writing.
