POETIC JUSTICE
VOICE. HOPE. POWER TO CHANGE.
Who we are.
Poetic Justice is a registered 501c3 nonprofit organization.
We strive to create a community within and beyond women's prisons and jails by bringing creative writing workshops to incarcerated women.
Our organization believes in using self-expression as a powerful tool for healing, personal growth, and empowerment. Participants in our program explore themes of mindfulness, accountability, collaboration, and past trauma, allowing them to reflect on their experiences and connect with themselves.
The workshops we provide foster community and transformation within women’s correctional facilities across Oklahoma, California, and Oregon.
Poetic Justice’s mission is to offer restorative writing and creative arts programs to individuals who are incarcerated in women’s prisons and jails.
Our vision is to offer opportunities for healing and growth by holding space to process trauma and rewrite personal narratives to transform the story of incarceration.
""I believe Poetic Justice gives us hope. Hope in ourselves, hope in our state, hope for change, hope for society, hope for women to overcome where we have been and what we've been told we are."
